ABOUT THE EP

Triclopian Newtopia (EP)— Tape Lab

Released: April 19, 2019
Runtime: 2 Songs (6:04 minutes)

Triclopian Newtopia is a two-track EP from the now-defunct Triangle Scheme, led by CD+ and built around a spacey, ambient, electro-jam atmosphere. Featuring “Hive Mind” and “Glass Palace,” the release drifts through glowing synth textures, loose electronic rhythms, and that slightly alien Tape Lab-adjacent energy where the beat feels like it was discovered rather than written.

The title has a perfect mutated-future quality to it — part utopia, part three-eyed vision, with a nod to Blinky, the famous three-eyed fish from The Simpsons. It is weird, glassy, and lightly radioactive in the best way. Triclopian Newtopia feels like a broadcast from a small civilization living inside a synthesizer, with CD+ leading the charge through ambient loops, electro pulses, and a soft-focus sense of sci-fi wonder. Make sure you peep the music video.
