About SP!N

SP!N is Tape Lab’s controlled explosion: calm, sincere, deeply musical, and always locked into the sound. A born musician with more formal training than most of the collective, SP!N brings a grounding presence to Tape Lab’s most energetic ideas—part mediator, part rhythm architect, part bass-driven experimenter.

His sound is expansive, warm, and low-end focused, blending live musicianship with the playful, electronic, and experimental spirit that defines Tape Lab. SP!N’s music is thoughtful without being precious, technical without losing its joy, and collaborative in the best possible way. He keeps the room together, then turns the amp up to 11.

As part of Tape Lab, a collective split between Durham, NC and the Hamptons, NY, SP!N helps shape music that sounds like it was fun to make: inventive, communal, and unpretentiously original. His love for sound runs deep—ask him about his TASCAM microphone—and his influence can be heard across Tape Lab’s live recordings, studio experiments, and bass-heavy grooves. SP!N brings a wide-open ear to everything he touches.
