Rediscovered beats from a long lost age

ABOUT THE EP

Bells Over New Tristram (EP) — Tape Lab

Released November 11, 2023

Bells Over New Tristram is Tape Lab deep in dungeon-crawler mode: dark beats, cursed grooves, and enough Diablo lore to make the whole thing feel like it was recorded next to a waypoint with bad reception.

The album takes its name from New Tristram, the doomed little town that somehow always seems one bad decision away from complete demonic collapse. Every beat on the record is built around that world — grimy, haunted, and dramatic in the way only Diablo can be. You can practically hear the inventory management.

The tracks pull from the game’s wider mythology: Tyrael, fallen angels, corrupted lands, and Diablo’s many hells. It is not just “fantasy vibes” slapped on top of beats. It is Tape Lab filtering that whole grim lore machine through underground rhythms, heavy atmosphere, and the usual refusal to make anything too normal.

Bells Over New Tristram is dark, playful, lore-soaked, and built for anyone who likes their beats with a little dungeon dust on them. A proper Tape Lab descent: ominous, groovy, nerdy, and fully committed to the bit.
