ABOUT THE ALBUM

Ear Blindness (Album)— Tape Lab

Released July 7, 2024

Ear Blindness is a Tape Lab collection of lost media, underground tape beats, rediscovered archive tracks, and experimental cassette culture. Built from the stranger corners of the Tape Lab catalog, the album has the feeling of something dug out, cleaned up, and sent back into circulation with all the right imperfections intact.

F1R2T kicks things off with the kind of wonky beat work Tape Lab listeners already love: loose, off-center, and instantly recognizable. Been Thinkin’ brings a soul-inspired flip of a Ron Isley classic into the Tape Lab world, blending vintage R&B warmth with underground tape texture. Dubquest 68 leans into video game music territory, adding a playful, quest-like energy to the release.

The major rediscovery here is Organ Donor, one of the great Tape Lab classics, remastered in 2025 and brought back with new life. It captures what makes the archive so valuable: strange grooves, odd emotional logic, analog grit, and songs that feel like they were hiding in plain sight.

For fans of lost media music, underground beat tapes, cassette culture, experimental hip-hop, vintage soul flips, video game-inspired beats, and remastered Tape Lab rarities, Ear Blindness is both a time capsule and a fresh transmission from the archive.
